Abstract
The contribution, through the analysis of the connections between gift and empathy, outlines a conception of the gift that, while calling into question the possibilities of choice of the individual, highlights at the same time, its sedimentation in the ambivalent “nature” of the human, thanks to the process of phylogenetic evolution
