Main Article Content
Abstract
This article offers some of the results of the research carried out in the Department of Didactics and Educational Organization of the University of Barcelona. The main objective of this work has focused on understanding and interpreting the process of construction of an intercultural dialogue, based on the representations of a sample of families of Latin American nationality from the province of Barcelona, and the corresponding teachers of their sons and daughters, in the Primary Education stage. The methodology used has been based on the qualitative approach through a case study. The results reveal the existence of four barriers: linguistic, institutional, cultural and socioeconomic, which hinder the construction of a dialogue between the family and the school in an immigration context, and the explanatory analysis on the communication between the family and the school. in a context of diversity, evidencing that isolated explanatory factors should not be chosen, but rather delve into a multifaceted analysis of the situation.
